Invisible Bookend by Paul Cocksedge

Invisible Bookend created by Paul Cocksedge, is a freestanding object made of metal, but the designer gave no further clue to how it works.

The Invisible Bookend:

Is a lightweight object that requires no mechanical fitting. It easily holds more than a meter and a half’s length of books, of all sizes.

“I wanted to discover if other people would enjoy as much as I do seeing books displayed without any other object to distract attention from them. This is a design which is not about appearance, only function. That’s the beauty of it.”

“would you want to own something, when all you can see is what it does, not what it is?” That’s the question designer Paul Cocksedge is asking with his Invisible Bookends. As you can see in the pictures above, the bookends are as invisible as they claim to be. There are only photos of the bookends in action, and not a single picture of the actual product. That’s mainly because the designer wants to know, will you still buy this bookend even though you can’t see what you’re really buying? The bookends are available for purchase at the designer’s website, here to buy .
